Halifax Academy Class of 2025 Senior Spotlight:
Watkins Ellis Crew has been actively involved in HA’s Student Government Association throughout high school, most recently serving twice as the student body chaplain. He has also held the position of secretary for the Monogram Club and president of the Octagon Club. He has supported various volunteer projects at HA through his club participation. For the past two years, Watkins was a journalism staff member, contributing to the school’s yearbook. This year, he has taken on the role of yearbook editor. Additionally, Watkins has been a dedicated supporter of the Vikings at sporting events and other activities, appearing as "Harold," the school mascot.
During Watkins’ time at Halifax Academy, he participated on the varsity cross country and swim teams, earning All-Conference Awards in swimming. He was also a shooting team member from grades 7 to 10.
Outside of school, Watkins has worked as a pharmacy technician at Drugco for the past two years. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and hunting. Last summer, he participated in the Volunteen Program at ECU Health North Hospital. He is also a member of Victory Baptist Church, where he particularly enjoys youth group activities.
Watkins is the son of Melissa and Ellis Crew from Pleasant Hill. He has two younger siblings, Wyatt and Ellington. He plans to attend Campbell University in the fall and major in pre-pharmacy, with the aspiration of becoming a pharmacist.
