Apply to colleges early.  Let Mrs. Harris know once you have completed and sent your college application and she will forward transcripts to the appropriate colleges and universities.

Keep your grades up. Your acceptance to college is contingent upon your successful completion of your senior year.

Register to take one or more of the October or November SAT Reasoning Test and/or SAT Subject Tests.  Sign up at www.collegeboard.com.  If you are not a strong math student, consider taking the ACT. Sign up at www.act.org.

Ask teachers or other recommenders to write recommendations at least a month in advance of mailing deadlines.

If financial aid is necessary, get applications in early December.  Fill out applications in advance and turn them in well before the deadline.  Be sure that all necessary forms, deposits, test scores, transcripts, etc. have been sent with your application.

When you have chosen a college, Mrs. Harris will send final transcripts after graduation.

Utilize the tools at www.cfnc.org to fill out college applications, explore colleges and careers, search for scholarships and much more.  This is an excellent resource for helping you with the college application process.
