Parent/Guardian Application Process

As a parent you make many decisions for your children as they grow; however, few have as great an impact as the decision of where your children receive their education.  The decision to send your child to a private Christian school will provide you the confidence to know he/she will receive a solid foundation for their thoughts and actions in the future.  There are numerous reasons why we believe Halifax Academy is an excellent choice for your child’s education.  However, the Halifax Academy family believes the most important reason for you to select our school is our ability to provide a Christian atmosphere while attending an academically challenging school.   

Halifax Academy seeks to enroll academically motivated students capable of responding to a challenging curriculum. A successful educational outcome requires the collaboration of parents: as partners in the child’s education, as supporters of Halifax Academy’s standards, and as active participants in the life of the school community.
At Halifax Academy the admissions process is one of information gathering, assessment and evaluation. The goal of the admissions process is to determine the likelihood of a “good fit” for the child, the family and the Academy. The family, seeking a quality education, also recognizes that a private school is more than its classroom academics. A private school is a community of shared aspirations and high expectations.     
Our admissions process is designed to give parents sufficient information about the school’s policies, programs and philosophy to make an informed judgment. After all the objective evaluations have been made, the final determination will likely be a subjective determination as to whether or not there is likely to be a “good fit.” The process will include screening of applicants, review of written recommendations, student visits to and participation in our classrooms, and parent interviews with school administrators.    
 If you would like to pursue the possibility of a Halifax Academy education for your child, please contact the Academy to arrange a tour of the campus. A visit to Halifax Academy is not complete unless it includes an opportunity to meet our teachers and students.
